2. What is Blu-ray disc or BRD Part 1

Last week, the last official HD DVD title was released, and our collection will be complete with 370 titles as of next week when we bring in the last one. Therefore starting today, we are building the HD format war emerging Blu-ray disc collection. As implied BRD is also a high definition format heralded by Sony with its Playstation 3 console, standalone players, VAIO notebook laptops and PC drives, along with models from other brands such as Sharp, Philips, Panasonic, Samsung, LG to name just a few. All movie studios and other independents have now announced support in terms of software title releases. High Definition video quality can be seen on normal screens (480i) but is designed for HD displays at 720p/1080i, and best at 1080p. High Definition audio quality can be heard using optical or coaxial cables, but is designed for multichannel (analog) 5.1 or best with HDMI 1.2+ enabled receivers/amplifiers. 
Unlike HD DVD and its Combo format, Blu-ray disc will ONLY play on a Blu-ray drive equipped player, which are coded into 3 regions A (North & South America/Asia), B (Europe/Africa/Australia/NZ), C (Eastern Europe/India/China), where we as with Region 1 DVDs, will support Region A releases by default. The good news is that 70% of titles are not region locked, and SOME players may be modified to play all regions just like with DVD players. ALL our titles will be region free releases from Regions A and B to start with. Again, you need a Blu-ray player to play Blu-ray discs, which will also play your DVDs according to region restrictions (1,2,3,4,5,6) and others discs. The covers will have a light blue top spine where HD DVDs are red comparatively.
Please be wary when you purchase a Blu-ray player of region playback for both BRD and DVD, profile (1.0,1.1,1.2,2.0) which will determine whether you can update your player via an ethernet port, and play online enabled discs (unlike HD DVD which was 2.0 for all players), and audio capabilities for new audio codecs or formats.

(BOOK NOW) - Durango Kids - Four kids slip through a hole in time when they discover a hidden mine shaft that transports them to the old Wild West. Their magical journey takes them to a place where they encounter thieving bandits, pandemonium and adventure in their pursuit of lost treasure. The gang has to stick together to find the hidden gold before the evil school principal locates the loot for himself!

(BOOK NOW) The Eye - Sydney Wells is blind and has been so since a childhood tragedy. After undergoing surgery to restore her sight she learns to see again. But soon after, unexplainable shadowy and frightening images start to haunt her. Not knowing if they are an aftermath of surgery, her mind adjusting to sight, her imagination, or something horrifyingly real, Sydney is soon convinced that her anonymous eye donor has somehow opened the door to a terrifying world only she can now see.

You won't find a funnier Greek war film even if you live to see 300!

(BOOK NOW) The Mighty Ducks - Screen favorite Emilio Estevez (Stakeout, Young Guns) stars in The Mighty Ducks, the hilarious comedy that made moviegoers stand up and cheer! Tough trial lawyer Gordon Bombay (Estevez) never loses. But when he's slapped with a community service assignment, he must coach a ragtag team of pee wee hockey players who can't skate, can't score and can't win! Has Coach Bombay (Emilio Estevez) let the big time go to his head, forgetting that it's just a game? But when a street hockey gang teaches the Ducks to get tough, the Coach remembers how to have fun ... and the Ducks show the world the true meaning of Duck Power!
